Bethany is the principal lawyer involved in the delivery of our Family Law Resolution services where she assists clients with consent and property-based services including financial agreements, applications for consent orders, property transactions and divorce applications.

Since joining our team in 2011, Bethany has acquired considerable experience in real estate settlements and property dealings in our busy Flat Rate Settlements division. Bethany is responsible for the firm's commercial property settlements, off-the-plan contract matters and subdivision applications. She drafts applications, contracts, easements and other land development documents and advises clients on matters including the transfer duty implications of their projects.

Bethany also undertakes criminal and traffic law matters including applications for extraordinary driver's licences. She has received much positive feedback from satisfied customers.

Bethany completed bachelor degrees in Law and Commerce at the University of Western Australia in 2015. Her Commerce majors are in Employment Relations and Human Resource Management. Bethany was admitted as lawyer of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in August 2015. She is a member of the Family Law Practitioners Association of WA and the Law Society of WA.

Bradley is a degree-qualified Software Engineer with 5 years of commercial software development experience. He works for Overtech Technologies on a range of projects, including their flagship product ContactsLaw – currently deployed at Birman & Ride and other firms. Bradley works closely with our legal professionals to ensure that the software is of the highest quality and meets our ongoing (and demanding) requirements.

Emma joined Birman & Ride and Flat Rate Settlements in 2017. Emma recently completed her Masters in International Law and International Relations at the University of Western Australia. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Communication Studies and Asian studies.

Emma has extensive management experience in the retail industry where she has developed exceptional customer service skills.

Emma’s interests include travelling, reading and playing hockey.

Gunanithi joined our firm as an Accounts Executive in 2014. Guna is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm's general and trust accounts.

Guna has a bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance at Curtin University and is currently undertaking the CPA program. He has developed his technical skills and knowledge in Accounting in previous work experience in the legal and retail industries.

Hazel graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Science (Podiatry) in 1995 and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Health Promotion in 1997. Hazel has enjoyed a diverse and rewarding career across government, commercial and not-for-profit agencies, gaining valuable experience in social marketing, sponsorship, project management, policy development, recruitment, clinical practice, resource development and administration. Hazel currently has a key role in the roll-out of the Birman & Ride marketing campaign and is a regular contributor to the FRS blog.

James has recently completed bachelor degrees in Law and Commerce (majoring in Management) at Murdoch University. James was a committed member of the Murdoch Student Law Society, making valuable contributions to the negotiation and sports portfolios.

James has managerial experience in the hospitality industry where he developed excellent client service skills.

James is a passionate sportsman and has excelled in both cricket and football. James’ other interests include travel and fitness.

Jeremy established the practice of Birman & Ride in 1979 and has been practising law as a barrister and solicitor since 1977. Jeremy leads the firm's litigation team. He has extensive experience across a broad range of legal areas including civil, commercial and criminal litigation and commercial law. He has appeared as counsel in nearly every court and tribunal in the state.

Since joining the firm in June 2014, Jessica has built up her experience across a wide range of real estate and property transactions and has become a valuable member of our busy settlements team.

Michael is the chairperson of the Board of a local Independent Public Primary School. He is a trustee of the charitable fund of Fremantle Chamber Orchestra Pty Ltd and the orchestra's principal clarinet. He is the web editor of several other community groups. Michael graduated from Murdoch University in 1996 with degrees in Law and Commerce and joined the firm as an articled clerk the same year. He was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 1997.

Nigel joined the firm’s law cadetship program in December 2011.  After initially spending time in the firm’s settlements department, Nigel joined the busy litigation team in 2012. Nigel has taken his skills and experience to other intellectual pursuits. In 2013, he was a Grand Finalist in the 2013 UWA Open Mooting Competition and a Quarter Finalist in the Kirby Contract Law Moot. Thomas is an experienced customer service manager who has joined Birman & Ride and Flat Rate Settlements in 2017. He has worked in a number of intense service roles where he has consistently delivered a customer experience above expectations. He has experience in customer service, management, and business administration in the retail, car rental, and engineering industries.

Thomas graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Economics, from Curtin University in 2016. Thomas has broad interests and has studied elective units in engineering disciplines including Computer and Electrical Engineering.

Outside the office Thomas loves to discover new food experiences and looks forward to trying new cafes and restaurants. He is an avid reader, music lover and traveller.
